I was so excited to meet this couple, who found me on good ‘ol Google. They are both new to San Diego and wanted to do a photo shoot for a pregnancy announcement. The first-time mom-to-be had just started her second trimester and only their parents knew about the pregnancy. Since none of their other family or friends live in the area, she felt it would be fun to make the announcement through photos. Of course, I loved this idea!
I asked if she had any specific ideas she wanted to do and she mentioned she had a custom designed onesie, so I told her to bring that and a sonogram image. The week of the shoot, she found out they were having a girl, so I designed a custom chalkboard with “It’s a girl” written on it. For one last touch, I also brought a letter board. I wanted to give them a variety of images they could use for their announcement, so my plan was to spend the first half of the shoot with the props, and then the second half of just the two of them together.
They decided to do the shoot at Coronado beach, so we did the first half near the Del, and then went out to the beach for the second half. As much as I loved the first half of the shoot, the second half was amazing! We had gorgeous light and color in the sky, which reflected so beautifully on the beach. And these two were just the cutest, loving couple I’ve ever seen. They were naturally so comfortable in front of the camera, just being together and enjoying the moment. I’m hoping to take photos again for them once the baby arrives. And what a beautiful baby she will be!
